Search index	index	The files the build writes under search/ so that a page searches the whole corpus without a server: an entity table and one shard per two-character prefix, holding the words of every entity, its title, aliases, summary, note text, type, application, domain, status and source, each with a weight. The page loads the table when the search field takes focus and one shard per word typed, so that a query matches by prefix as the reader types, over file:// as behind a server.	112
Alphabetical index	index, letter index	The page of the site, under index/, that lists every word with or without a note by initial letter, in the collation of the language pack of the project locale: a bar of letters first, a letter without an entry inactive, each entry with the glyph of its type or the "no note" mark and its citation count. When the whole index would weigh more than 100 kB as one page, every letter gets its own page. The home page shows the letters with their counts as one of its three entry points.	89
Facet	search facet, filter	A way of narrowing the results of the search by one property of the entities: their type, their source, their domain, their application, or whether a note defines them. The results page lists every value the site knows with the number of results carrying it, counted in the browser over the current query; the selected values combine, a value nothing would come of stays listed at zero rather than vanishing, and the choice travels in the address of the page so that a search can be sent as a link.	71
